Tiger Woods continues to confirm its presence in tournaments. The golfer will play from 6 to 9 May at the Players Championship, to be held in Ponte Vedra, and 1 to July 4 at the AT & T National in Pennsylvania.
The American, who returned to golf in the Masters earlier this month after a sex scandal, won the Players Championship in 2001. "This tournament always attracts as one of the best golf of the year, everybody wants to win there," Woods said on his official Web site.
Woods, world number one, received a warm welcome from fans in Augusta and now have to deal with what the PGA Tour is expected to be a "record attendance" at TPC Sawgrass.
The Players Championship is considered the fifth 'major', after the Masters, U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship.
Tiger has also confirmed he will play the AT & T National, to be held during the weekend of July 4, Independence Day U.S. at Aronimink Golf Club, located just outside of Philadelphia. "I'm looking forward to defending my title at the AT & T National," Woods said. "Philadelphia is a great sports city and I'm excited to play at the Aronimink Golf Club," he added.
After his fourth place in Augusta, Woods announced that participate in the U.S. Open, which takes place between 17 and 20 June. It has also agreed to play Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, from 29 April to 2 May.
